제목 | Cell Size and Porosity Relationships of Molded Flexible Shape Memory Polyurethane Foams |
초록 | Flexible polyurethane foams take up a large portion of the market share and are used in furniture, packaging, thermal insulation, and transportation-based applications. Depending on the desired end use, flexible polyurethane foams are commonly made by either a slabstock or a mold foam. In this experiment, a series of molded flexible PU foams were prepared from diphenylmethane diisocyanate(MDI), polyester polyols, crosslinking agents, silicone surfactant, catalysts and distilled water as blowing agent. We could control cell size, porosity and crosslinking density by controlling the contents of catalysts, silicone surfactant and type of crosslinker, molecular weight of polyol. These PU foams have been characterized in term of thermal, mechanical, dynamic mechanical properties, air flow test and SEM. It was found that the shape memory properties of molded flexible PU foams prepared in our experiments were varied by the cell size, porosity, crosslinking agent etc. |
