Well-ordered colloidal crystals offer an excellent tool for addressing key issues in a wide range of applications including photonic and electronics, ordered mesoporous materials for catalyst supports, sensors, data storage and nanolithography. As the feature size required continuously decreases and accordingly the size of colloidal particles decreases, however, it become difficult to achieve highly-ordered colloidal crystals with sub-100 nm nanoparticles. In order to overcome such problem, in this work, the template with highly-ordered nanopores has been used to fabricate the colloidal crystals. As a template, mesoporous titania films were generated by using block copolymer self-assembly and sol-gel chemistry. Then, colloidal crystals of polystyrene nanoparticle with different size has been fabricated on the titania template. The templates with different structure were generated by controlling block copolymer, which led to the array of colloidal particles with different patterns. |
