1,3-Bis(1-(3-(2,2-difluoro-1-(tributylstannyl)vinyl)phenyl)-2,2-difluorovinyl)benzene was prepared in 4 steps from the coupling reaction of 1-bromo-3-iodobenzene with 1,3-bis(2,2-difluoro-1-(tributylstannyl)vinyl)benzene. The coupling product, 1,3-bis(1-(3-bromophenyl)-2,2-difluorovinyl) benzene, converted to 1,3-bis(2,2-difluoro-1-(3-(tributylstannyl)phenyl)vinyl)benzene which underwent the coupling reaction with 2,2-difluoro-1-iodoethenyl tosylate to give 1,1'-(3,3'-(1,1'-(1,3-phenylene)bis(2,2-difluoroethene-1,1-diyl))bis(3,1-phenylene)bis(2,2-difluoroethene-1,1-diyl)bis (4-methylbenzenesulfonate). Stannylation of this compound provided 1,3-bis(1-(3-(2,2-difluoro-1-(tributylstannyl)vinyl)phenyl)-2,2-difluorovinyl)benzene which underwent the cross-coupling reactions with aryl iodides. Synthetic scope and coupling reactions of this compound will be presented. |
