A study on the polyurethane networks prepared using PPG-based crosslinkers with catalyst-free azide-alkyne click functionality |

In this study, glycidyl azide polymer was cured through polyurethane reaction with isophorone diisocyanate and “click reaction” of the azide group and alkyne in PPG-based cross-linkers through a 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition reaction to form polyurethane networks. The PPG-based cross-linker were synthesized with propargyl 3-carboxylic-propanoate and series of poly(propylene glycol) (PPG) (Mn=76, 425, 1000). Crosslinking density and the molecular weights between the crosslinking points (Mc) were determined from swelling data, and Flory-Rehner equation. Thermal and mechanical properties of these polyurethane networks were measured and analyzed as a function of crosslinking density and Mc. |
