제목 Enhancement of recording stability of photorefractive polymer by introduction of trap layer
초록 The photorefractive (PR) effect refers to a spatial modulation of the refractive index of a material generated by following mechanism : charge carriers, photogenerated by a spatially modulated light intensity pattern, separate by drift and diffusion processes and become trapped to produce a non-uniform space-charge field. The resulting internal space-charge field then modulates the refractive index via electro-optic (EO) effects to create a diffractive grating(hologram).
The recording stability of photorefractive polymers is still relatively poor compared to inorganic photorefractive materials while photorefractive polymers are intensively investigated due to their promising performance. For the enhancement of recording stability, some researches were focused on the control of trap inside the photorefractive polymer and results showed enhanced photorefractive properties such as diffraction efficiency and recording stability, but introduction of trap sites in the materials led to the reduction in recording speed characteristics because traps act as a barrier toward the charge carrier transport. In this study, we introduced trap layer at the surface of photorefractive polymer composite to enhance the recording stability without reducing the recording speed. Two-beam coupling measurement and degenerate four-wave mixing measurement were carried out to estimate the recording stability of photorefractive polymer.
