제목 Effect of Hydrophilic Nanoparticles on the Ordering of Block Copolymer Thin Films
초록 We demonstrate a novel method to control the orientation of poly(styrene-b-methyl methacrylate) block copolymer thin films using hydrophilic nanoparticles without the need for a neutralization layer, greatly improving the processability of PS-b-PMMA systems. Hydrophilic nanoparticles, PEO-coated gold nanoparticles were incorporated into PS-b-PMMA diblock copolymers that exhibit PMMA cylinders. Due to the miscibility between PEO and PMMA, PEO-coated gold nanoparticles were selectively positioned within PMMA microdomains. By controlling the relative humidity and the volume fraction of hydrophilic nanoparticles, it was found that vertical alignment of the PMMA cylinders on Si wafers. In addition, the effect of hydrophilic PEO-coated Au particles on the domain size and its homogeneity of PMMA cylinders within a PS domain is demonstrated while the nanoparticle itself holds promise for introducing secondary functionality such as etch resistance into the films.
