Platinum (Pt)/multi-walled carbon nanotube (MWCNT) counter electrode(CE) for dye-sensitized solar cell (DSSC) was fabricated through the coating of Pt/MWCNT paste on FTO-glass substrate, followed by thermal treatment procedures. In this study, properties of the pastes along with the photovoltaic performance of the DSSC were investigated. Electrochemical impedance spectroscopy was used to characterize electrocatalytic properties of CEs. The charge transfer resistances of Pt/MWCNT electrodes were about the one-third of that of conventional Pt CEs. Fill factor of Pt/MWCNT CE for DSSC was higher than that of Pt CE. Consequently, the Pt/MWCNT CE exhibited good electrocatalytic activity, which is at least comparable to that of conventional Pt CE.
