HLB, hydrophile-lipophile balance, is showing the balance between hydrophilicity and lipophilicity of a emulsifier. Hlb value is important when manufacturing the emulsions for optimal emulsification of oil phase and water phase. Depending on the value of HLB, viscosity, particle size and particle density is changed so we could predict the tendency of stability. In this study, we try to estimate the stability of several types of emulsions which have different nonionic emulsifiers and different HLB value respectively by measuring viscosity and particle size for 16 weeks. |
