제목 | Ni-rich layered oxide cathodes using mixed catholytes of sulfide and halide for all-solid-state batteries |
초록 | All-solid-state lithium-ionbatteries (ASLBs) are considered as next generation batteries owing to theirpotential of improved safety and energy density, compared to conventionalliquid electrolyte-based lithium-ion batteries. Sulfide solid electrolytes(SEs) with Ni-rich layered metal oxides (LiMO2, M = Ni, Co, Al, Mn)suffer from serious electrochemical degradation originating from their poor electrochemicaloxidation stability (>3 V vs. Li/Li+) that offsets the highLi+ conductivity and mechanical deformability. Furthermore, an instabilityof Ni4+ of LiMO2 causes high interfacial resistances by thephase transition on the LiMO2 surfaces. To overcome these limitations,newly emerging halide SEs, despite their lower Li+ conductivity,have attracted attention due to their excellent oxidation stability (> 4 V vs.Li/Li+). In this work, we propose a hybrid use of sulfide and halide SEs tosuppress their drawbacks for the application to LiMO2. |
