Effect of interfacial interaction on crystallization behavior in thin polymer film |
초록 |
Numerous groups have demonstrated that the rate of crystallization, crystal orientation, and density of nucleation points can be very different for the thin films from the bulk. Recently, strong dependence of the crystal orientation, morphology, and melting temperature on the substrate is observed in the semicrystalline polymer thin films. In this study, we investigated the effect of the additional interface such as polymer surface/solvent vapor on crystallization behavior of semicrystalline film as a function of thickness. The crystallization of poly(ethylene-vinyl acetate) thin films spun-cast from the polymer/toluene solutions with as-cast thickness from 100 to 10 nm was studied. The morphology was observed using atomic force microscopy and optical microscopy. we found that these specific interaction have an effect on crystallization and morphology change with the film thickness decrease. |
