제목 Evaluating the correlation between the selective in vitro cellular uptake and the pharmacokinetics of nanoparticles in tumor-bearing mice
초록 Nanoparticles (NPs) have been extensively studied as a drug carrier system for human cancer theranostics. The chemical structures and the identities of the base materials may provide a reliable prediction of the physiochemical properties of NPs. However, it has remained impractical to predict the pharmacokinetics before conducting in vivo experiments. In this study, we propose a novel method for the prediction of the in vivo distribution of NPs utilizing their in vitro properties. Five different kinds of NPs were prepared and their physiochemical properties and the selective cellular uptake by cancer cells and macrophages were comparatively analyzed. And the biodistribution was monitored in tumor-bearing mice to identify the correlation between the in vitro and the in vivo outcomes. The differences in the amount of cellular uptake were reflected in the in vivo distribution of the NPs. The cellular uptake profile of NPs may provide a useful indicator of the pharmacokinetics of the NPs.
