제목 Anionic Polymerization of Isocyanates Having Functional Group in the Side Chain
초록 Polyisocyanates and their block copolymers have been very interesting and attractive materials due to their helical conformation caused by their stiff amide backbone and steric constraints. Very few attempts have been made to synthesize polyisocyanates having functional group in the side chain. We have tried to polymerize 2-chloroethyl isocyanate and 3-chloropropyl isocyanate by using various initiation systems. We used sodium benzanilide and potassium diphenylmethane as initiators and sodium tetraphenylborate as an additive and also tried to synthesize block copolymer with hexyl isocyanate and 2-vinyl pyridine. Due to charge interaction between the polymer’s backbone and side chain, polymer has poor solubility in organic solvents. The obtained homo and block copolymers were characterized by 1H-NMR and SEC-LS. We compared yield and molecular weight distribution of the polymers obtained by different initiation systems and tried to explain reasons responsible for the differences.
