Solution-processed organic solar cells (OSCs) offer the attractive prospect of light-weight, low-cost and sustainable solar energy production. Non-fullerene OSCs have also been advancing by the need to detect alternative acceptors that overcome poor bandgap tenability, limited optical absorption, the high synthetic costs and morphological uncertainty of fullerene derivatives including such as phenyl-C61-butyric acid methyl ester (PC61BM) . In this study, we designed new class of acceptor-donor-acceptor-donor-acceptor(A-D-A-D-A) type small molecular acceptor. It is expected that the new class small molecular acceptors will be efficient acceptors because they have high electron affinity and stability, high electron mobility, and appropriate LUMO energy level, which is similar with that of fullerene derivatives for efficient energy off-set between LUMO levels of donor and acceptor. |
