Gellan gum is widely applied in tissue engineering owing to its biocompatibility and outstanding physicochemical properties and recently it became recognized polymer that spotlight in various fields. In this study, we have fabricated modified gellan gum hydrogel scaffold using Cation Exchange Resin that remove cation (Mg+2 and Ca+2) to observe the effect of cartilage regeneration. Analysis can be used to provide insights into the modified gellan gum of gel materials removing cations. The physiochemical and biological characteristics of scaffold was evaluated by Compressive strength, FT-IR, MTT, Bio-SEM and RT-PCR. The measurement of tissue regeneration test was conducted with New Zealand white rabbits and Nude mouse to confirm modified gellan gum’s effect of cartilage repair in vivo. |
