Dispersion of the Single-Walled Carbon Nanotubes and Fabrication of Transparent Conductive Films using poly[2-(dimethylamino)ethyl methacrylate]-co-polystyrene as Polymeric Dispersant |

The transparent conductive film (TCF) with single-walled carbon nanotube (SWNT) has been investigated to substitute the indium tin oxide (ITO) electrode. In order to obtain higher conductivity, the dispersion of SWNT is the most important. However, SWNT exist as a bundle due to a strong van der Waals attraction. In this study, poly[2-(dimethylamino)ethyl methacrylate]-co-polystyrene (p(DMAEMA-co-St)) was used as polymeric dispersants for SWNTs. p(DMAEMA-co-St) with various monomer compositions were prepared by atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP) and characterized by GPC and 1H NMR. SWNTs with p(DMAEMA-co-St) were effectively dispersed in tetrahydrofuran (THF). Dispersion stabilities of SWNTs were analyzed using the turbiscan optical analyzer. SWNT coated PET film was fabricated by spin coating. Debundled SWNTs on PET films were observed using transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and field emission scanning electron microscope (FE-SEM). |
