제목 Improved mechanical and electrical properties of carbon nanotube fibers by PVDF/IL treatment and multi-ply twisting
초록 Carbon nanotube (CNT) fibers composed of CNT bundles have exhibited poor mechanical properties due to sliding of adjacent CNTs when an external force is applied. Numerous surface coatings have been attempted, but these approaches have led to a significant reduction in the electrical properties of the fibers. In order to resolve this problem, we have tried to apply poly(vinylidene fluoride)/ionic liquid (PVDF/IL) coating on CNT fiber and subsequent multiply twisting. The SEM images of CNT fibers were measured in order to check the surface morphology. The mechanical properties were examined in terms of load capacity, tensile strength, and tensile strain. The electrical conductivity was found to be maintained by 4-point probe method.. The CNT quality and alignment of CNT bundles were also investigated by polarized Raman spectroscopy.
