Titania nanoparticles were encapsulated by using melamine/ urea/ formaldehyde resins. Polymeric nanoparticles were prepared by surfactant-free emulsion copolymerization of styrene and a cationic monomer [2-(methacryloyloxy) ethyl]-trimethylammonium chloride) (MOTAC) using azobis (isobutylamidinehydrochloride) (AIBA) in aqueous phase. The particles be stabilized by the addition of poly (vinylpyrrolidone), which adsorbs on both polymeric nanoparticle and titania in ethanol. Then, these particles were dispersed in ethanol and mixed with titanium (IV) butoxide. Negatively charged titania precursors were rapidly reacted on the cationic polymer nanoparticles. The oil phase suspension of titania nanoparticles was made by mixing of halogenated hydrocarbon and isopar-g. Then, blue-dye N was added into the titania suspension. This dye-containing titania suspension was slowly poured into the aqueous surfactant solution. Melamine/ urea/ formaldehyde resins were added into the mixed solution to prepare the titania encapsulated microspheres. |
