New polyimides containing acetylene moiety in the backbone were synthesized from prepared dianhydride monomer with several diamines via a two step, polyamic acid precursor method. An acetylene-containing dianhydride, 4,4’-(1,4-phenylendiethynylene)bis(phthalic anhydride) was synthesized by palladium-catalyzed cross-coupling reaction of 4-bromophthalic anhydride with 1,4-diethynyl benzene, which had been prepared from 1,4-diiodobenzene as a starting material with acetylene protecting group such as trimethylsilyl group followed by deprotection. The polyimides were investigated by the spectroscopic means such as FT-IR, WAXS. The thermal and optical properties of obtained polyimides were characterized by TGA, DSC, UV spectroscopy. |
