제목 Synthesis and Gas permeation properties of polybenzoxazole-silica composite membrane
초록 Aromatic polybenzoxazoles (PBO)s are class of heterocyclic polymers that exhibit outstanding thermal, mechanical stability and superior solvent and chemical resistance. The properties of aromatic polybenzoxazoles which were fabricated from in situ thermal conversion of hydroxyl-containing polyimide make them attractive for many applications. During the thermal conversion of hydroxyl-containing polyimide, 2 moles of CO2 were evolved from the polyimide matrix, which create free volume or micropores in polymer matrix. Increased free volume leads to tremendous gas permeation characteristics. In this study, we prepared organic-inorganic composite membrane to modify gas separation performance by dispersing the various nano-sized fumed silica contents in PBO membrane.
