In this work, porous carbons were prepared as adsorbents for hydrogen storage. The wood pellet (WP) was carbonized at various temperature and then used as adsorbents. The structural and morphological properties were investigated by X-ray diffraction (XRD) and scanning electron microscope (SEM), respectively. The specific surface area and micropore size distribution were investigated by N2/77 K adsorption isotherms using Brunauer-Emmett-Teller (BET) equation and Horvath–Kawazoe (HK) method. The hydrogen storage capacities were analyzed at 77 K and 1 bar. From the results, it was found that the hydrogen storage behaviors were influenced by specific surface area, pore size, and micropore volume of the prepared samples. |
