제목 | Photodynamic therapy agent to specifically target breast cancer |
초록 | The biggest hurdles in cancer treatment are low targeting effect and intracellular penetration. 30% of breast cancer patients show overexpression of human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2). We conjugated antibodies that can specifically target this receptor with polymer and photosensitizer (PS) that increase intracellular penetration and accumulation in cancer. PS produces reactive oxygen species (ROS) that kill cancer cells during laser irradiation, enabling photodynamic therapy (PDT). It also damages the extracellular matrix, increasing intracellular penetration efficiency. In vitro experiment, HER2-negative and positive cell lines were used to confirm the targeting ability of a photosensitizer conjugated antibody (PCA). In the tumor growth inhibition experiment, laser irradiation showed high PCA accumulation and anticancer effect in the cancerous area. The PCA found increased drug penetration and distribution throughout cancer tissues and improved drug delivery efficiency |
