제목 Photo-activatable anti-cancer drug delivered for cancer treatment that activates in tumor microenvironments
초록 Many studies have been studied on photo-activatable drug carrier for cancer treatment. However, the light-stimulated drug delivery has insufficient therapeutically effect for cancer treatment and unexpected side effects. We designed photo-activatable drug carrier (PAC) stimulated in tumor microenvironment that was hypoxia and light irradiation. The PAC embraced an anti-cancer drug and structural disruption via reactive oxygen species (ROS) through respond of photosensitizer in polysaccharides. In cancer tissue which is hypoxia, ROS was generated by the electron enriched polysaccharide structure. The ROS produced by PAC facilitated drug release in tumor hypoxic condition through laser irradiation. A drug loaded PAC exhibited toxicity in cancer cell line in low level of oxygen condition. Animal model experiments were performed that demonstrated of tumor specific delivery of the PAC. Thus, this study suggests efficient approach for cancer treatment and hypoxic conditional diseases.
