제목 Light-triggered phase transformation behaviors of photo-responsive liquid crystal
초록 Phase transition of the soft matters are basically observed during the thermal fluctuation at the constant pressure. In the case of liquid crystalline materials, the more-ordered phase melts first at lower temperature, then the less-ordered phase are disordering at higher temperature upon heating. Recently, the photo-induced phase transition of the soft materials at constant temperature have been reported because of therir technologically attractive characteristics. Here, we newly designed and synthesized the programmed photo-responsive liquid crystal (abbreviated as PPLC) containing an azobenzene mesogens. The photo-reversible liquefaction and solidification of PPLC compound is successfully achieved, which pave the new way to fabricate the remote-controllable light shutter.
