제목 PEG-based Bis-Imidazolium Salts for Application in Quasi-Solid-State Dye-Sensitized Solar Cells
초록 Due to their high conversion efficiency, low cost and environment-friendly photovoltaics, dye-sensitized solar cells (DSSCs) using mesoporous TiO2 particles have attracted widespread attention and have been investigated intensively as a potential alternatives to traditional photovoltaic cells. In DSSCs, organic solvent-based liquid electrolytes with inorganic triiodide/iodide as redox couple are generally used even though some shortcomings. To overcome the issued problems to the liquid electrolytes, the solid or quasi-solid electrolytes has been needed for the production of flexible photovoltaic cells using continuous processes. In this work, novel bis-imidazolium salts based on poly(ethylene oxide) oligomers having two butylimidazolium groups on the both chain ends were prepared and applied as redox media. In order to form a quasi-solid state electrolyte, hydrophilic fumed silica was dispersed in the electrolyte system, which was optimized for high conversion efficiency in DSSCs.
