Dimeric acid methyl ester was synthesized through dimerization of CLAME (CLAME) and oleic acid methyl ester (OAME) by montmorillonite (MMT) KSF. KSF was base treated with alkali metal hydroxide solution to synthesize base treated-KSF. KSF showed low conversion and selectivity to dimer. But base treated-KSFs showed more high conversion and selectivity than KSF. As a result, Ca11-KSF recorded high dimerization conversion of 62.6%. As for catalysts, physical and chemical features were checked through analysis of x-ray diffraction (XRD), inductively coupled plasma-atomic emission spectrometer (ICP-AES), brunauer-emmett teller (BET), temperature-programmed desorption (TPD) and hammett indicator method. Dimerization yield was analyzed by size exclusion chromatography (SEC) analysis. And these results applied to conjugated soybean oil methyl ester, as a results total conversion was decreased than reagent grade reactants. |
