제목 Polymerization of Helical Nanostructures for Fabrication of Cholesteric Reflectors
초록 Helical nanostructures in the cholesteric mesophase can be either a left-handed or a right-handed rotation of the liquid crystal (LC) director along the helical axis. When irradiated with unpolarized light, a cholesteric film will reflect 50% of this light with a circular polarization matching the handedness of helicoidal superstructure. The approach we take here is to prepare a polymerizable cholesteric monomer to yield films with the desired optical properties and the robustness needed for flexible devices. Fast photopolymerization freezes the original notch position. In this contribution, we report the reflective and flexible photonic crystal reflectors with red, green, and blue reflection colors, which are prepared by the polymerization of chiral reactive monomers.
