제목 Effect of Fixed Point Position in Shape Memory Polyurethane
초록 Shape memory polymers are typically temperature sensitive functional polymers because these polymers basically consist of two phases, a fixed phase and a thermally reversible phase. Crystal, glassy state, entanglement, or crosslinking can be used as a fixed structure memorizing original shape.
In this experiment, the location of crosslinking point has been ether in soft or hard segments. Shape memory PUs were prepared from toluene diisocyanate (TDI), isophorone diisocyanate (IPDI), polytetramethylene glycol(PTMG), trimethylol propane(TMP) as crosslinking agent and 1,3-buthane diol(1,3-BD). These shape memory PUs have been characterized in term of thermal, mechanical, dynamic mechanical and shape memory properties. It was found that shape fixability and recovery of shape memory PUs prepared in our experiments were varied by the position of crosslingkings as well as content of prepolymers. As a result, according to the position of crosslink point at constant hard segment content, the shape memory property as well as other mechanical and dynamic mechanical properties of polyurethane have significantly been changed.
