제목 | Manufacturing process for improving the compressive strength of carbon block |
초록 | Carbon block is used in various industrial materials such as steel, electronics, and nuclear industry because it has high thermal and electrical conductivity with high thermal resistance. However, its brittle characteristics make a limit for using of the structural material. In this study, for improving the compressive strength of the carbon block, a novel process was developed. Carbon block is manufactured by mixing of filler and binder, kneading, shaping and thermal treatment (carbonization, graphitization), the novel process was added oxidation step between shaping and thermal treatment. On the oxidation step, oxygen functional groups are formed in the block, the oxygen functional groups are worked a cross-linking site during thermal treatment. Simultaneously, the pores and voids decreased, so the compressive strength and coefficient of thermal expansion were improved. |
