Fabrication of Highly Stable PCM Nanoemulsion by Assembly of Amphiphilic Block Copolymer at Oil-Water Interface |
초록 |
Phase change material (PCM) can store and release a certain amount of energy. Taking advantage of this, PCM has been widely used as a key material for improving insulation and packaging. The goal of this study is to fabricate an extremely stable PCM nanoemulsion. The well-assembly of poly (ethylene oxide)-b-poly (ε-caprolactone) block copolymer at the interface generates a flexible but tough polymer film, thus remarkably improving the emulsion stability. The improved PCM performance is confirmed by thermal analysis for the nanoemulsion; the heat capacity associated to the phase changing is high enough, implying the heat is effectively transferred while maintaining the phase changing enthalpy. |
