The donor-acceptor (D-A) strategy has been demonstrated to be an efficient approach, in which conjugated electron-rich and electron-deficient units are employed to prepare small molecules. In particular, the DPP with thiophene are known to have high rigidity and coplanarity of the molecular backbone. In this work, we designed and synthesized small molecules having extended conjugated DPP units varying the number of thiophene units. So we investigated their electronic or intrinsic properties through theoretical calculation. In addition, absorption spectroscopy, cyclic voltammetry and thermal analysis were performed for characterizing their properties. |
