We have synthesized a block-type, nanostructured chemosensor using 5-amino-2-(4’-methyl-2’-hydroxyphenyl)benzoxazole (NC) as an ESIPT molecule and color-transition sensing 10,12-pentacosadiynoic acid (PDA). PDA was esterificated with N-hydroxy-succinimide (HS) to form HS-PDA by using N,N'-dicyclohexylcarbodiimide (DCC) as an activator and 4-pyrrolidinopyridine catalyst. NC was then reacted with HS-PDA in the presence of triethylamine (TEA) to synthesize NC-PDA. The final product was purified by column chromatography and dried in a vacuum oven at room temperature. The chemical structure of NC-PDA was characterized with 1H NMR, IR and MALDI-TOF. The self-assembling nanostructure of NC-PDA was investigated using TEM, SEM and AFM. |
