제목 Binary blends system of polypropylene with vinyl alcohol copolymer: Thermal, mechanical and gas barrier properties
초록 Polypropylene (PP) is one of widely used polymer in various applications due to its excellent in mechanical properties (toughness, stiffness, and tensile strength), good water vapor barrier, and cost benefits. However, PP has a weakness for oxygen barrier property. Vinyl alcohol copolymer shows an excellent oxygen barrier property, but its brittleness gives limitation for the industrial application. In this study, we have investigated the thermal, mechanical and gas barrier properties in various blending ratio of binary blends system. Thermal properties was assessed with differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). Mechanical properties was characterized by the universal testing machine(UTM). Gas barrier properties were measured oxygen transmission rate analyzer and water vapor transmission rate analyzer.
