제목 Rheological properties of jammed particle systems composed of soft and hard particles
초록 Emulsion is defined as a mixture of two immiscible fluids, and it is one of main categories of soft particle systems. Many researches have been performed to clarify the difference between soft particle and hard particle systems. Compare to hard particle, soft particle has soft surface so that one can easily reach to the jammed system.
In Jammed system, the particles are in contact with each other and the surface property plays an important role. In this study, we use 1-eicosene to make emulsion and suspension. We will focus on the rheological properties of the system. At low and intermediate volume fraction, the viscosity curve looks like newtonian and follows the Lionberger and Russel equation. At higher volume fraction, the strain sweep and frequency sweep tests were conducted. Here, the plateau modulus showed a power-law behavior at low temperature for all volume fractions, and the yielding behavior showed clear difference between soft and hard particle systems.
