제목 Providing additional absorbent efficiency and retention by functionalizing eco-friendly carbon-based materials
초록 Efficient absorption of hazardous chemicals is important matter, especially considering the frequent and broad usage and application of various hazardous chemical solvents in our current industry. Hence, accidental spills and leakage during transport of such chemicals seem inevitable. Considering the possibility of massive spills that can occur, absorption efficiency of hazardous chemical absorbents is an important parameter when selecting the absorbent. However, when chemicals that are easily vaporized are spilled, just absorbing them may not be enough. Here, we report a method to utilize cellulose acetate and cellulose acetate/other high efficiency chemical absorbent mixture to absorb and decelerate the vaporization rate of highly volatile hazardous compounds such as propylene oxide, which resulted in significant decrease in the vaporization rate of propylene oxide and other volatile solvents.
