Preparation and Characterization of Polymer/TiO2 core-shell particles |

Polymer/TiO2 core-shell particles were prepared to examine its potential application as electronic-paper display, which was highly interested for the candidate of next generation flexible display. In this work, micrometer polymer particles were prepared by dispersion polymerization using vinyl ester monomer and 2,2’-azobis(isobutyronitrile) initiator. These were surface-modified with amines and converted to ammonium salt by addition of a little acid. Then titanium butoxide was added and adsorbed to surface of polymer particles then reduced to titanium oxide particles. These Polymer/TiO2 core-shell particles were characterized by using particle size analyzer, FTIR spectroscopy, thermogravimetric analyzer, SEM and TEM. The characteristics of electronic-paper display were investigated by electro-optical measurement system. |
