Erbium-doped waveguide amplifiers (EDWA) with a wavelength division multiplexer (WDM) have recently been utilized in microphotonic devices. However, EDWA has not been enough in the optical signal efficiency by reason of the poor solubility in organic/inorganic matrix, aggregation at high concentration and heterogeneous dispersion on the glasses. To resolve these problems, we have working on the efficient highly light-harvesting integrated supramolecular materials based on carcerand, lariat cavitacryptand and bispherand, which are efficiently shielded the lanthanide ion from the environments of antenna and transmitted the intramolecular energy transfer from the host supramolecule to the guest lanthanide(III) core. In this presentation, the design and synthesis of the lanthanide (III)-encapsulated supramolecular materials with dendrons and their photophysical properties will be discussed in more detail. |
