Arrangement control and large-area fabrication of soft building block are important issues in soft material research. Toric focal conic domain (TFCD) in smectic liquid crystal phase is one of potential candidates of lithographic template. In previous research, our group achieved arrangement control of TFCDs with planar polymer coating and multi-directional rubbing methods. In this study, we introduce new stamping method for large-area pattern fabrication and arrangement control of TFCDs. We show the large-area micropatterns of TFCDs and successfully obtained a variety of spatially arranged TFCD array such as square, hexagonal, rhobic shape. We also show a potential application of TFCD array as lithographic template for particle trapping. |
