Recently, the initial efficiency of the organic solar cells remarkably improves, and the maximum efficiency is close to 13%. However, applying these new materials to modules that can be commercialized may be possible after solving many other problems. For example, whether a desired level of efficiency is obtained at a suitable thickness of a coating, stable performance without serious deterioration in efficiency under light irradiation conditions, whether coating is proper in a large-area coating method other than spin coating, and whether the efficiency is not lowered sharply compared to the small area. KRICT aims to develop materials applicable to commercialization modules and to develop materials that can improve the deficiency of devices, ensure stability, and secure thickness and large area coating through development of new structured materials. This presentation will introduce some of the material developments that KRICT is conducting. |
