제목 Effect of polymerization pressure on electrical conductivity of the PEDOT thin film
초록 Recently, poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) (PEDOT) has been applied to many fields, such as flexible transparent electrode for flexible display and electronics due to its excellent characteristics. For solution polymerization EDOT monomer, poly(vinyl pyrrolidone) as the matrix polymer and pyridine as a retarder were dissolved in 1-butanol. Oxidant solution was separately prepared by dissolving ferric p-toluene sulfonate in 1-butanol. Solution polymerization was carried out by mixing monomer and oxidant solutions. Instantly, at desired pressure, the solution was cast to thin film followed by in-situ polymerization at 70°C for 20 minutes in order to complete polymerization of PEDOT. The PEDOT film was then washed with water and methanol several times. Solution polymerization at 3 atm resulted in the film with high conductivity (1,240 S/cm) possibly since chain conformation of PEDOT formed in the solution is rather coil-like than extended.
