초록 Gas hydrates are crystalline compounds with water and light gases associated with hydrogen bonding that can be formed at low temperature and high-pressure conditions. In this research, a CO2 gas-hydrate composite is produced in a 70-L pressurized vessel at various mixing conditions and at a pressure equivalent to intermediate ocean depths (1200-1500m). Water and liquid CO2 are pre-mixed to form CO2 hydrate in a specially designed co-flow reactor and the produced CO2 hydrate composite is disposed into the water in the vessel. In the reactor, water is injected through a 125 μm diameter capillary into a surrounding continuous flow of liquid CO2. During injection, water forms small droplets in the liquid CO2 phase and hydrate shell is form on the water-liquid CO2 interface. The water/CO2/hydrate composite from the injector sinks at intermediate ocean depths, making this carbon sequestration approach more efficient than competitive CO2 injection techniques.
