Preparation and characterization of the carbon-slurry fuel with good high dispersion have been carried out. Carbon-slurry fuel was made by mixing N326A and additive in liquid fuel The liquid fuel was jet A-1 and additive was used to disperse N326A in Jet A-1. Dispersion was affected by various factors such as mixing method, temperature, nature and size of carbon, and type and concentration of additives, etc. Among these factors the type of additive was very important. A variety of additives such as anionic, cationic, nonionic, and polymeric additives were tested for dispersion of N326A in Jet A-1. Anionic additives based on sodium salt showed higher dispersion of carbon-slurry fuel than others. The degree of dispersion was monitored by measuring luminosity and resistance of carbon-slurry fuel. For a measurement of the resistance LED and CdS element were applied. |
