This study describes the fabrication of conducting copolymer Poly (octylthiophene-co-hexylthiophene) (P3OT-co-P3HT) on the surface of the MWNTs by in-situ oxidative polymerization. Fourier transform infrared, field-emission scanning electron microscopy, Thermo gravimetric analysis, X-ray diffraction and high-resolution transmission electron microscopy were used to characterize the structure and morphology of the nanocomposites. Microscopic analysis of the nanocomposite shows the core-shell tubular structure and also indicates that the structure of the MWNTs is not perturbed by the incorporation of copolymer. The electrical conductivity of copolymer is improved significantly due to the intrinsic properties of MWNTs. |
