The core-shell structured nanofiber by electrospinning has great interests due to its simple process and broad applications. Using Magnetic nanoparticles (MNPs) in core-polymer, core-shell structured nanofibers could extend its applications. The possible new applications include filteration using magnetic force, hyperthermia using AC magnetic field heating, and DDS using external magnetic field, etc. In this work, Cobalt ferrite(CoFe2O4) MNPs have been synthesized by wet chemical method. The CoFe2O4 MNPs were mixed with core-polymer, and the core-shell structured nanofibers were prepared by coaxial electrospinning. After the electrospun the core(with MNPs)-shell structured nanofibers, the TEM confirmed the MNPs were aligned inside the core of the nanofibers. The formation and the size of CoFe2O4 MNPs were confirmed by XRD, TEM, and SEM. The magnetic property of the nanofibers with CoFe2O4 was characterized by Vibrate Sample Measurement, which showed its ferromagnetic characteristics. |
