Ferric chloride (FeCl3.6H2O) and ferrous chloride (FeCl2. 4H2O) were dissolved in deionized water (D.I.W) with vigorous stirring at desired temperatures under a nitrogen atmosphere to prevent oxidation, at the molar ratio of following condition Fe3 :Fe2 = 2:1. After stirring for 10 min, NH4OH was then added to the solution. After stirring for 30 min, the precipitate was repeatedly washed by water. We also tried another synthesis method by using iron acetylacetonate as a precursor and oleic acid and decanediol as a solvent. To synthesize nanocomposites of magnetite nanoparticles with silicone and hybrid aerogels, we dispersed nanoparticles into silicone resin and infiltrated nanoparticles into porous matrix. |
