In recent years, lead-based perovskite quantum dots with formula ABX3 have demonstrated outstanding attentions due to their excellent optical properties such as tunable wavelength, narrow band, and high quantum efficiency. Unfortunately, the use of lead caused problems about the toxicity and stability. Therefore, the replacement of lead with other metals is a challenge to meet the environment and bioaccumulation. In this regard, the bismuth based perovskite has emerged as a candidate of other metals with great potential for a variety of photovoltaic applications because they have not only low-toxic but also air stable properties. In this work, we synthesized colloidal lead-free bismuth perovskite quantum dots via a LARP method. The emission color of lead-free bismuth perovskite quantum dots was also controlled by changing several cations. Furthermore, we applied perovskite quantum dots with lead-free bismuth for the light harvesting semiconductor in photovoltaic applications. |
