To achieve maximum efficiency in host-guest phosphorescent organic light emitting diodes (PhOLEDs), the triplet energy of host should be higher than that of dopant to prevent quenching due to energy transfer. Therefore, blue PhOLED is a challenge because of lack of appropriate organic charge transporting materials which have higher triplet level than that of blue triplet emitter. Efficient blue PhOLED was achieved using N,N’-dicarbazoyl-benzene (mCP) host whose triplet level is above that of FIrpic. However, vapor deposition of small molecules is expensive and incompatible with large area display fabrication. To overcome this problem, solution-processed polymer host based on mCP was synthesized. Electrochemical and optical properties of the polymer were investigated. The performances of PhPLEDs based on the polymer host will be discussed in this presentation. |
