For utilization of the therapeutic functions of the nitric oxide (NO) such as anti-restenosis, wound healing, anticancer and antibacterial activity, diverse NO delivery platforms include liposomes, organic / inorganic nanoparticle have been developed. However, the biocompatibility of the materials and NO capacity have been questioned continually. Herein, we manipulate biomimetic polydopamine (pDA) to develop biocompatible nanocapsule-based NO delivery platform. To achieve these rational designs, the pDA-NO capsule was constructed step by step. The deposition process of the pDA capsule onto silica (SiO2) particles is firstly proceeded. After, pDA capsule is obtained by removal of the SiO2 particles. The pDA-NO capsule was developed by substitution of NO-releasing moiety. The successful fabrication of pDA-NO capsule was confirmed and its NO-releasing properties and biomedical potential were evaluated. |
