제목 Polydopamine hollow nanoparticle as NO delivery carrier for gram-negative bacterial treatment
초록  To treat gram-negative bacterial species which have become increasingly resistant to antibiotic drugs, Nitric Oxide (NO) have been attracted as alternatives of general antibiotics due to its antibacterial activity. However, the development of finely biocompatible NO releasing materials is required for practical application of NO delivery system. Herein, we develop biocompatible NO delivery platform by utilizing polydopamine (pDA) based hollow nanoparticle. pDA is highly biocompatible in vivo and available for conjugating NO-releasing functional groups. In addition, the pDA based hollow nanostructure is believed to provide large surface area for higly efficient loading of the NO. Based on these rational designs, we develop NO releasing pDA hollow nanoparticle for the antibacterial therapy. This study demonstrates a promising potential for the development of efficient nitric oxide based antibacterial agent.
