We have fabricated organic thin-film transistors (OTFTs) using diketopyrrolopyrrole (DPP) and quaterthiophene (QT) containing conjugated polymer, P(DPP-alt-QT) as an active layer with chemically modified SiO2 gate dielectrics. The effects of the surface treatment of SiO2 with alkyltrichlorosilanes were investigated on the electric characteristics of OTFTs made of P(DPP-alt-QT). The self-assembled monolayers (SAMs) were elaborated with n-octyltrichlorosilane (OTS) and n-octadecyltrichlorosilane (ODTS) on SiO2 surface. From the electrical measurements, typical I–V characteristics of TFTs were observed. The best field-effect mobility, μ, was determined to be 1.13 and 3.46 cm2 V-1 s-1 for TFTs made of P(DPP-alt-QT) with OTS- and ODTS-treated SiO2 dielectric layer, respectively while the mobility of the device with bare SiO2 was measured to be 0.23 cm2 V-1 s-1, respectively. |
