Synthesis and characterization of new photoreactive prepolymers |

New photoreactive prepolymers, which may be used as binder resins for the color filter resist of liquid crystal display, were designed and synthesized by reaction with epoxy resins and methacrylic acid and cinnamoyl chloride. Chemical structures of the prepared prepolymers were confirmed by NMR and FT-IR spectroscopies. The photosensitive polymer was dissolved in a solvent with a photoinitiator and RGB pigment and spin-coated on a glass substrate, resulting in good quality of the film with a thickness of about 1㎛. The film was then exposed to UV light through a photomask and developed by dipping it in organic solvent, showing excellent pattern resolution. We instigated photocure kinetics of the polymer using FT-IR spectroscopy. Thermal stability of photocured polymer film was studied by TGA and UV-Vis spectroscopy. Surface morphology and the pattern resolution of the photocured film were observed using SEM or AFM. |
